Scorpions and Mötley Crüe reveal Las Vegas residencies
Classic rock bands have been closely linked with Las Vegas Strip residencies for years, and this trend seems set to continue. The legendary hard rock group Scorpions is the latest addition to this lineup, commemorating the 40th anniversary of their famous “Love at First Sting” album with a nine-show residency. Their performances are scheduled from April 11 to May 3, 2024, allowing fans to experience the band’s celebrated past.
However, the Scorpions are not finished. They have also revealed intentions to return to Las Vegas in 2025 for their “Coming Home to Las Vegas 60th Anniversary” residency. This series of shows will occur at Caesars Entertainment’s PH Live at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino, commencing on February 27, 2025, with further performances on March 1, 6, 8, and 11. With such a rich history, these residencies provide a special chance to honor their legacy while interacting with both dedicated fans and new listeners.
In the meantime, another hard rock titan, Mötley Crüe, is poised to make their return to the Las Vegas Strip. The band has planned 11 performances at MGM Resorts International’s Dolby Live at the Park MGM in March and April 2025. This event signifies their first residency in 12 years, marking a noteworthy return for a band that has been a fixture in the rock world for many years. With both Scorpions and Mötley Crüe on the lineup, Las Vegas is set to transform into a hub for classic rock lovers in the upcoming years.
Fontainebleau attracts major artists for both short and long-term gigs
Fontainebleau, the newest member of the Las Vegas Strip, has rapidly carved out a significant role in the entertainment industry, landing a blend of short-term and long-term gigs with prominent acts. Since its BleauLive Theater kicked off with Post Malone on December 30-31, 2023, the venue has seen a variety of classic bands from the 70s, 80s, and 90s. Nevertheless, the majority of these performances have been limited to one or two nights, appealing to fans seeking a more personalized experience.
Highlighted among the short engagements are Third Eye Blind, who took the stage for a single performance in June, and Hootie and the Blowfish, who performed two shows in August. Following them, Smashing Pumpkins delivered a one-night-only show on September 27, while Jennifer Hudson is scheduled to perform two nights on December 21-22, 2024. Furthermore, Heart will reschedule previously postponed shows with two performances on February 28 and March 1, 2025. These brief engagements have enabled Fontainebleau to present a wide array of musical experiences, attracting fans from various genres and eras.
However, Fontainebleau is also dedicated to securing more extensive residencies. The venue has landed country music icon Keith Urban, who will perform for five nights between October 4-12, 2024, and return for another five shows from February 14-22, 2025. This marks a significant achievement for Fontainebleau, as Urban’s residency is projected to attract large crowds and further establish the venue’s status as a top destination for live entertainment.
Additionally, Fontainebleau has recruited hip-hop star Pitbull for a residency that will span 2024 and 2025. Dubbed “Vegas After Dark The Residency,” Pitbull’s engagement will begin on November 8, 2024, featuring an eight-show run. The residency will proceed with performances on January 24-25, March 7-8, and March 14-15, 2025. Pitbull’s return to the Las Vegas Strip is highly awaited, as his prior residency at The Axis at Planet Hollywood Las Vegas, which lasted from September 2015 to May 2019, was a considerable success.
Fontainebleau’s capability to draw both short-term and long-term engagements from well-known artists reflects its growing stature in the competitive Las Vegas entertainment arena. With a mix of classic rock, country, and hip-hop performers, the venue is positioning itself as a flexible player capable of appealing to a broad spectrum of audiences. As Fontainebleau continues to expand its lineup of performers, it is set to emerge as a vital destination for both artists and fans alike.
