Boosting privacy with faraday bags
As someone who constantly fears plane crashes, it’s alluring. Is this more than I require to secure my hardware devices while traveling? Should I be concerned about solar flares and EMF radiation?
In any event, one effective improvement I’ve implemented is to keep my Bitcoin hardware devices and seed materials in faraday bags, which repel radiation and obstruct frequencies. I’m no specialist, but I’ve heard that this makes the devices tougher to tamper with, and as for further measures, all you need to do is purchase a special storage bag.
I’ll confess, it’s somewhat of a struggle for me. As a person who has maintained a public presence since penning my first Bitcoin article back in 2013, I don’t have many options – much of my personal data is accessible, probably indefinitely.
Perhaps not, but considering we might be on the brink of World War III, that’s yet another reason to forgo a stack and invest in this, right? I mean, it’s the sort of item I ought to possess as a “Bitcoin expert?”
Because surely there’s a reason for me to avoid purchasing this, right?
That’s what drew me to this privacy gem.
The charm of the SLNT submersible faraday backpack
If you’re anything like me (and you’ve been accumulating Bitcoin non-stop), you’ve likely sought ways to enhance your privacy.
I received my first faraday bags for free through my Casa service (a multi-signature Bitcoin security provider that helps me with my self-custody). They hand out complimentary faraday bags from this fantastic manufacturer called SLNT to new subscribers, but I’ve purchased a few additional ones along the way.
Not only does it appear quite stylish, but supposedly it can protect your laptop (and other devices) in water up to 100 feet deep.
I’ve been in search of a new backpack, and I must say, despite the ,000 price tag, the SLNT Submersible Faraday Backpack has caught my eye.

I’ve mentioned to Shinobi whether he can craft one out of Saran wrap, but unfortunately, that seems to exceed even his security prowess. Until then, I suppose I’m left with this on my wishlist.
That being said, even minor enhancements can have a significant impact (or so the saying goes). At the very least, they provide me with some reassurance about the fact that I’m safeguarding essentially all my wealth with no one to hold answerable but myself these days.
